Become a part of Tapovan.
Tapovan is a former forestry acreage which was heavily logged until it was purchased privately and transformed into a protected community park. The trails are maintained by the Galiano Trail Society, but there are many opportunities to support and sustain the park’s clean-up and development. All donations and contributions go entirely to the upkeep and maintenance of the park.
Donate a Bench or Picnic Table.
In memory of a loved one or moment, you may donate a bench or picnic table and choose exactly where you wish it to be placed.
Build a trail or donate a sign.
With 200 acres, we have a lot of trails to build and keep up. You can help! By sponsoring the materials of a new trail or the upkeep of an old trail, paying for a trail sign, or coming and joining our trail building work parties. In sponsoring a new trail, you can pick the language you want the trail name in, and your name will be listed on our park bulletin board. Trails permit people to experience nature and feel it healing power.
Plant a tree.
you may plant an indigenous tree in the name of someone you hold dear, to commemorate a celebration, or simply in the name of peace and our planet for $25. You may plant it yourself, or we can plant it for you. You can pick your spot and name your tree.
Host your celebration.
We are delighted to offer those celebrating a special day or moment, a wedding, a promise a milestone or a rememberace, the opportunity to do so in the peace park. We will happily connect you with local service providers and ensure that you have what you need.
Aphorism Booklet.
You are also able to purchase a small booklet containing all of the beautiful aphorisms which you will find on the plaques throughout the park.
Peace Cards.
Created by Galiano artist Annete Shaw, we offer a set of five peace aphorism cards. All the proceeds of the cards go to the parks upkeep.
